Punjab the name means "Land of Five Rivers". Punjab is known for fertility of its land to produce a large variety of fresh fruits & vegetables. Two major rivers out of the five are Chenab and Jhelum which meet at the city of Jhang making the area very rich in its ability to grow any thing tropical. Jhang the city is known for its agricultural background and for producing all varieties of tropical crops, fresh fruits & vegetables.
The city has organized its business activities through Jhang Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI). JCCI has been established just six years before to develop the area from agricultural to industrial one. Sugar, Industrial Alcohol, in addition to woolen and jute rugs & carpets industries. Furniture, Handicrafts, Handmade embroidery, Marbles, Bed sheets and Hosiery are also exported from Jhang.
